The Basketball Diaries

A friend recommended this film to me saying “It's a somber version of Airbud taking place in the ghettos of New York City, but DiCaprio sell his body to chase the “Golden Retriever”. When I first saw this movie, I thought it had a somewhat misleading title. I was expecting a heart-warming tale of a basketball recounting his journey from owner to owner, instead (from what I saw), it was 103 minutes of GQ like poses and street walking vignettes that helped define the fashion industry of the 1990s. Indeed, we should all take stock in the diversity of fashion and lifestyle portrayed in the film, however if you came seeking basketball tips and tricks, you may have to look elsewhere.
