The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo
Finally, there is a movie that accurately portrays the rebellious life of anti-establishment biker-punk teenage girl (played by Pete Wentz of Fallout Boy). In this movie, the ominous portrait of Marsha Brady set on the fireplace mantle taunts the Wentz's character with the perfect life she will never have.
Wentz is held hostage by two medieval knights, and the fireplace, once a safe place to store the girls aspirations and dreams, is now engulfed in flames. The 'hot-headed' teen helplessly watches her future licked away by the roar of the fire. And though never explicitly stated, leads to Wentz's cutting problems and inevitable suicide.
But more disturbing is the absence of any dragon tattoos in the film. As a lover of dragons myself, I patiently waited until the ending credits only to be disappointed. If you thought this movie was a retelling of the Double Dragon saga, you will be just as flustered as I was. This movie would be more appropriately titled: Up in Smoke: the Razor-blade Tales.
